Happy Lunar New Year 2020 everyone!
2020 Lunar New Year in Punny Garden won’t be complete without some bright, awesome lanterns! Here’s a funny sketch of me carrying some of my friends who, in turn, decided to copy me and carry someone else. We didn’t know it, but we started a great silly trend that day: Lunar New Year Lantern Train! Parading around town, we happily cheered for the Lunar New Year to come. We were a lively bunch and made so much ruckus that the local town folks wondered if we ate the firecrackers ourselves!
Everyone had great time and we stayed up past 10 pm to wait for the main event of the night: the Lunar PoeKnot Blossom Fireworks display. These aren’t the kind of standard fireworks that you’ve seen which make explosive noises with smoke. In fact, they are not really fireworks at all. To have these, you’ll need the help of some special Poeknot Trees, which do something amazing in the early days of spring when the full moon peeks over Punny Garden.
By a wise gardener’s design, there are a few dozen beautiful and very tall Poeknot trees in town. For two nights during the Lunar New Year time, they released their sparkly pollen into the crisp moonlit air. After reaching a certain high point in the sky, the pollen would explode into a HUGE glowing display of natural fireworks of sorts. Different PoeKnot Tree breeds produces different color displays, ranging from vibrant reds to icy blues. They’re completely and simply brilliant, literally!
Another amazing feature of the special lunar event is the wonderful smell. My goodness, the wonderful smell! The best way to describe it would be to compare it with a thousand English rose gardens on full bloom. It’s pure sweet potpourri! I remember that my friends and I ran around the town center to smell and marvel at all the marvelous sights. The grandeur was just in time to announce the arrival of the new Lunar Year!
