You often hear of spooky Halloween pranks. But, one year I decided that it would be HILARIOUS to play a Christmas prank on my best friend, Figaro. You see, in Punny Garden there’s a myth that there’s an immortal Punny named Apple Claus that, every Christmas, jumps on top of other Punnies’ rooftops and gives them free fresh fruit through the chimney! This Punny is known to have an unusually long stem, as well as a soft white bear/mustache. He also wears a long red hat with a cotton ball at the end to hide his long stem, as well as a red jacket to conceal his true identity. (Unique, I know.) Most adult Punnies you talk to will say Apples Claus doesn’t exist, but younger Punnies will say he does. It’s quite a controversy, really.
So obviously, Figaro was the perfect Punny to play this prank on. So, I went and got a long red hat, a red jacket, and some fake white facial hair. After taking about five minutes to dress up, I headed out to Figaro’s cabin out near the Blue Mountains. I also packed a bag filled with gifts for Figaro and his family (because it would suck for Fig to get nothing out of being pranked).
With the help of a strong ladder and sturdy boots, I managed to climb onto Fig’s cabin and into his chimney at exactly 1:11 AM. With careful tip-toeing, I placed the presents next to the Christmas tree and went to climb back up the chimney. Just then, though, my stomach rumbled SUPER LOUD! It was so loud that I jumped back in surprise. Well, I guess when you’re pranking people at 1:11 AM, it wouldn’t be unusual to get hungry.
Unfortunately, I didn’t pack any snacks. However, I did smell something delicious nearby. After sniffing around in the dark room, I came across some ginger snap cookies and almond milk (lucky!). I figured that Figaro wouldn’t mind if I ate a little, so I took a tiny nibble of a cookie. But, I wasn’t satisfied, as my stomach threatened to growl again (and potentially wake the whole neighborhood up!?). So, I decided to take another bite…then another…
Before I knew it, I was gobbling down the entire plate and slurping the entire glass of milk down! At the time, eating just made me more hungry. I even took off a few candy canes and ate them too. I’ll pay Figaro back for this food somehow, I thought with a tinge of guilt. Just then – the lights flickered on! Figaro yell “HEY!” I jumped and turned around like a shocked Gourd Raccoon, with crumbs of the cookie all over my mouth. I had been totally caught beet-red-handed!
Even though I pretended to be Apple Claus (with his jolly laughter and such), Figaro looked at me with a -_- expression. I guess I should’ve known better than to try to convince him that I was an Apple Punny when the lights were on already and the fake beard was almost falling off my face, LOL He ended up treating me to a full meal of corn chips and salsa, and I stayed over for the rest of the night. Later on, he told me that it was my stomach growling that woke him up – he thought a bear was in the cabin!
Merry Christmas, everyone! Wishing the best for you, and your friends and family. 🙂
